Privacy Statement The Canadian Association of University Teachers is committed to protecting personal information provided by affiliate and associate members. The majority of individual CAUT members are affiliate members, that is, members of CAUT by virtue of their faculty association or union belonging to CAUT. The information about individuals collected by CAUT from member faculty associations is restricted to name and business address and as such is not considered personal information. CAUT may collect personal information about individuals who participate on committees or task forces, who request legal assistance or employment assistance, apply for associate membership, apply for scholarships, register for conferences and educational programs, donate to an associated charity, or purchase advertising in or subscribe to the CAUT Bulletin. If you provide personal information to us for any of these reasons, you can do so with the understanding that your personal information will be protected. Whether in electronic or paper-based format, CAUT maintains strict security systems to safeguard your information from unauthorized access, disclosure or misuse. As well, when we no longer need your personal information, it will be safely destroyed. In the event that we transfer your personal information to a third party for processing (for example mail house distribution) we contractually require any organization to protect our members' confidentiality in a manner consistent with our procedures or as required by law.
