8-month Limited Term Appointment in Religious Studies
The Department of Religious Studies at Saint Mary’s University invites applications for a eight month sessional position beginning 1 September 2018. The successful applicant will be expected to teach first and second year courses that are foundational to our programme, such as Introduction to Religion, Introduction to Religious Experience, Introduction to Religions (East and West). The course load for the year will be two courses for the fall semester and three for the winter semester. The department has a preference for instructors who have a depth of teaching experience. The successful candidate must have a teaching portfolio that reflects excellence in teaching and demonstrates strategies for teaching Religious Studies at the introductory level. Applicants should hold a completed Ph.D. in Religious Studies (or related discipline), or be near completion.
The successful applicant will join a strong, five-member Department with a programme that focuses on religion in contemporary global society. Our programme includes a BA degree with a minor, major, and robust honours, as well as a joint MA programme run with the Atlantic School.
