The Department of Accounting and Business Analytics is accepting applications for a full-time Academic Teaching Staff - Lecturer position for a 3-year fixed term appointment beginning July 1, 2023.

Reporting to the Department Chair, the position will include the following responsibilities:

• Teach business analytics courses (8 sections) to undergraduate and graduate students, with a focus on introductory business statistics

• Prepare course syllabi, course materials, midterm exams, final exams and assign grades

• Evaluate student performance progress and provide appropriate and timely feedback according to department protocols

• Teach lab sessions to provide students with hands on experience with software products

• Remain abreast with relevant literature in business analytics as it applies to their teaching resources and activities

• Provide help sessions to undergraduate and graduate students on business analytics fundamentals Participate in department activities including advising student clubs and coaching students for case competitions

• Develop curriculum and material for new business analytics courses

Qualifications:

• A graduate degree (PhD) in a discipline that is relevant to business analytics, such as statistics, econometrics, operations research, operations management, industrial engineering, or computer science Demonstrated introductory statistics teaching excellence at the post-secondary level

• Applicants must have expert knowledge in business analytics software such as Python, R, SAS, and Tableau Experience supervising undergraduate and graduate students will be considered an asset

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Facilitation, negotiation and problem solving skills and an ability to handle challenging student situations
