The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applications for a pediatric echocardiography Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position within the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. This position is a full time (1.0 FTE) tenure track (contingent) position, 50-60% clinical service and 40-50% academic pursuits including research, teaching, and administrative duties (this is negotiable).

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will join 18 pediatric cardiologists and three associated researchers providing a full spectrum of clinical pediatric cardiology services and research, with expertise in multi-modal diagnostic imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, fetal cardiology, heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and preventive cardiology. In addition to clinical care, the division is active in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels.

The Stollery Children's Hospital Cardiac Program is the 9th largest in North America by surgical volume, a quaternary center providing care for Western Canada. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology has a fully accredited Pediatric Cardiology subspecialty-training program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with numerous trainees (undergraduate and postgraduate students, residents and clinical /research fellows) matriculating within the Division each academic year. The Division harbors an active basic and clinical science program, collaborating locally, nationally, and internationally. Qualifications

Interested applicants must have:

• MD degree (or equivalent)

• Completed residency in Pediatrics with subspecialty training in Pediatric Cardiology Completed 1 full year advanced training in Pediatric Echocardiography

• At least 2 years of advanced training or experience in research

Considered an asset:

• Experience in three-dimensional echocardiography, functional imaging and/or fetal cardiology

This position is ideal for an academic cardiologist. The applicant must be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Successful candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful academic alternate funding plan.
