Assistant/Associate Professor of Management

The Department of Management (DoM), in the College of Business and Economics (CBE) at the University of Guelph invites applications from outstanding candidates with a commitment to student engagement and transformative pedagogy, scholarship that is making a difference in the world, and community engagement, for a tenure-track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The anticipated start date for the appointment beginning July 1, 2019 or a mutually acceptable date in 2019. The distribution of effort for this position is expected to be 40% teaching, 40% scholarship, and 20% service.
Applicants should have earned a doctorate in management, organizational psychology or a related field. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research interests lie within areas of organizational behaviour or human resources, such as leadership, international management, creativity and innovation, organizational culture or teams. We are happy to consider applicants in related areas. Preference will be given to applicants who have a track record of top tier publications appropriate to their career stage and effective teaching in management or related areas at the post-secondary level. The candidate should be a team player, ideally with a proven record of building relationships with faculty, students, administration and with our academic and professional communities.
The Department of Management has 22 faculty members and responsibility for two majors in the Bachelor of Commerce program - Accounting, and Leadership and Organization Management. The Department also offers an undergraduate leadership certificate and contributes to CBE’s MBA, MA in Leadership, and PhD in Management. Faculty members are committed to CBE’s vision of “being and developing leaders for a sustainable world” and take a sustainable approach to organizational success through teaching and research in accounting, entrepreneurship, financial management, business policy/strategy, human resource management, organizational behaviour, leadership, and corporate social responsibility. The Department of Management is an integral part of the College of Business and Economics (Guelph’s Business School). Formed in 2006, the College of Business and Economics is the youngest college at the University of Guelph but delivers one of the largest undergraduate business programs in Ontario with over 3,800 students currently enrolled.
