The Faculty of Business & Information Technology at Ontario Tech University invites applications for a full-time teaching focused position in the Game Development and Entrepreneurship program effective July 1, 2019.
Required Skills:

The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in the role as a Technical Artist. Candidates must possess expertise in 3D modeling, animation, as well as technical knowledge (C/C++, programming constructs, ability to develop plugins for modern engines/modeling/animation software). Candidates must also have experience in prototyping gameplay and developing interactive video games with game engines (e.g. Unity3D, Unreal Engine), modeling/animation software packages (e.g. Autodesk Maya, Z-Brush). Candidates must also demonstrate their ability to work as a valuable team member.

Applicants should possess an MFA, MSc, PhD or be near completion of a graduate degree in a related field, a strong academic background, and strong knowledge in some or all of the following areas with an emphasis on game development: computer modeling and animation, computer graphics, human-computer interaction, sound/audio, game design, multi-player online environments, and serious games. In addition, relevant gaming-related industrial experience, university level teaching experience, and knowledge/experience regarding the “business of gaming” are required. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

Required Experience:

In keeping with our technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, strong computer skills are essential, and experience with Blackboard is an asset. In addition, a proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies is required as is evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment. Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff and students are essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to follow a 70% Teaching, 20% Service, and 10% Other workload each year.

This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by Ontario Tech University's Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the university and Ontario Tech University's Faculty Association. The collective agreement may be found on the Human Resources section of our website. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and annual salary increases are administered as per the terms outlined in the tenured and tenure track collective agreement.
