Assistant Professor, Algebra

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Calgary invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date commencing on or after July 1, 2019.
For consideration, candidates must have a PhD in mathematics and a research interest in any area of algebra. A proven record of research excellence commensurate with their stage of career development, a demonstrated ability to attract and sustain peer-reviewed external funding, and the ability and desire to work with and strengthen a diverse group of researchers working in fields allied with algebra are also required. The position also requires a commitment to high quality teaching. This includes teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and graduate student supervision. Evidence for such a commitment may comprise positive teaching accomplishments and accolades, strong letters of reference and teaching evaluations, and a teaching statement.
Start Date: Negotiable, on or after July 1, 2019
