Assistant Professor, Anthropology
The Department of Anthropology at McMaster University invites applications for full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in cultural anthropology commencing July 1, 2019.
We are looking for candidates with a focus on innovative approaches to anthropology, including those that center on socially engaged and participatory art, aesthetics/politics, and new materialism. Attention to issues of writing and representation is a plus. The geographical area of specialization is open, although preference will be given to candidates with areas of specialization that complement current faculty strengths. We expect the person who fills this position to take an active role in scholarship and to contribute to the department’s strong tradition of collegiality and collaboration.
The Department will begin reviewing applicants November 15, 2018. The position will remain open until it is filled.
