The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Dynamics of Differential Equations, in particular (but not limited to) Stochastic Dynamics. An appointment at a higher level may be possible for exceptional candidates. Research interest that aligns with that of the current members of the Department working on Dynamical Systems is an asset. The Department offers an excellent research environment with a normal teaching load of two-and-a-half courses per year.

Applicants will have a PhD (or international equivalent) degree in mathematics, demonstrated accomplishments and outstanding promise in research, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will establish his/her own research program and supervise graduate students.

The University of Alberta has one of the leading Mathematics departments in Canada, with strong connections to other mathematical institutes, such as the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS), the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), and the Banff International Research Station (BIRS).
