Assistant Professor, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources (2 positions)

The Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Division of the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) invites applications for two tenure track Assistant Professor positions in Organizational Behaviour to start July 1, 2020. The first position is open to applicants specializing in any Organizational Behaviour topic while for the second position we are seeking a candidate with expertise in Leadership and Diversity. Candidates should demonstrate potential to conduct high-quality research, publish in top tier management journals, and hold or be very close to completing a Ph.D. by July 1, 2020.

We seek candidates who are developing an active research program focusing on Organizational Behaviour who demonstrate research and teaching excellence. Duties will include making a significant research contribution to the field, developing and teaching Organizational Behaviour classes in our undergraduate and graduate education programs, supervising Ph.D. students, and contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives in the Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Division at the Sauder School of Business. Teaching and service requirements are similar to other research-intensive universities. UBC Sauder provides generous start up grants for research, and extensive development opportunities and support for junior faculty including an active seminar series, faculty “lunch and learn” sessions that focus on teaching development, methods workshops, and paper development workshops. In addition, the Canadian Federal Government sponsors several research funding competitions through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

The Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources Division consists of 12 scholars in an interdisciplinary division with both macro and micro research interests who study a wide range of workplace and organizational issues and publish in top tier management journals. The Sauder School of Business is part of the University of British Columbia (UBC). UBC attracts a high quality, and diverse student body. UBC is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, considered as one of the best places to live in the world, and the location for the 2020 Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting. With a population of 2.5 million, Vancouver is a vibrant and multicultural city situated between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean, two hours from Whistler, and Seattle, Washington.

We will be interviewing a small number of candidates at AOM Annual Meeting in Boston, MA. Priority for AOM interviews will be given to candidates who submit a cover letter and CV by July 29, 2019. The formal submission deadline is August 19, 2019.
