Assistant Professor (Tenure Track), Political Science

The Department of Economics, Philosophy & Political Science at the University of British Columbia Okanagan invites applications for the position of a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Political Science, beginning in the 2022–23 academic year.

We seek applicants who do outstanding research in the area of Politics and/or Public Policy of Canada. Specialities might include (but are not limited to): federalism, legislative politics, Cabinet politics, Indigenous politics, public opinion, environmental policy, or evidence-based policymaking. We are also interested in candidates who can also contribute to the teaching of research methods at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Political Science, with demonstrated specialization in Canadian politics/policy, by the start of the appointment. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of research productivity and an ability to obtain external funding in support of a successful program of research. They must also show evidence of, or capacity for, excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate teaching and learning; interest in graduate teaching and supervision; and dedication to student mentoring. The Department of Economics, Philosophy & Political Science is housed in the Irving K.
