Assistant Professor, Sport Injury Prevention, Faculty of Kinesiology

The Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor in sport injury prevention inclusive of sport-related concussion, with specific expertise in a related field of epidemiology, exercise science, health science, behavioral science, data science, or another relevant field. The appointment date for the successful candidate is anticipated to be September 2019.
The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in a field related to injury prevention in sport and sport-related concussion, be at an early phase of research career, have demonstrated excellence in research publication and external funding, and evidence of teaching excellence. The successful candidate will pursue a novel and independent research program in alignment with the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre in the Faculty of Kinesiology and with the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute, and/or the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, and/or the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, and/or the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health. The candidate will have the potential to become a leader in their research field with a plan for significant contribution to the Faculty of Kinesiology in high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate student supervision and mentorship, and service.
