The Faculty of Science at Brandon University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the
Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is in a period of rejuvenation and growth. We have an active departmental research culture and promote excellence in our teaching. We seek an outstanding individual who will help us support, build, and maintain the momentum in our programs.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field completed or near completion.

Responsibilities: The successful applicant will engage in teaching, research and service.

Teaching: The successful applicant will actively contribute to teaching at various levels of the undergraduate curriculum in Computer Science. The successful applicant must be able to create and teach new fourth-year undergraduate courses in the areas of software engineering and analysis and design of programming languages, as well as mentoring students in these areas. The ability to teach undergraduate courses in operating systems is an advantage. Experience with online teaching would be an asset.

Research: We seek an individual who will build and maintain a nationally and internationally recognized, externally funded research program. Applicants with the ability to collaborate on research related to anonymity, artificial intelligence, ant colony optimization, blockchain technology, cryptography, data mining, genetic algorithms, graphs, neural networks, particle swarm optimization, and security and privacy are particularly welcome. The successful applicant will be expected to: (1) develop an externally funded research program, (2) supervise undergraduate research theses and (3) supervise graduate students in the interdisciplinary M.Sc. in Environmental and Life Sciences.

Service: The successful applicant will actively participate in Departmental, University and community service.
