The Faculty of Business & Information Technology at Ontario Tech University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor in the area of Accounting. This position is subject to budgetary approval, and would start on July 1, 2023, or as soon as it is filled.
Applicants shall possess a graduate university degree in Business/Management and hold a CPA designation. The ideal candidate will be able to teach a variety of courses in our accredited Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) (BCom) Accounting major that may include; Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Auditing, Forensic Accounting, Taxation, Personal Finance and/or Financial Statement Analysis.
Ontario Tech is a technology-enhanced learning environment and the candidate shall be expected to have skills in the integration of technology into teaching and to model those skills in their own teaching in the University’s web-centric and mobile learning environment. Duties will include preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials and workshops, preparing and marking assignments, tests and examinations, responding to student inquiries, maintaining regular office hours, and invigilating tests and examinations. Duties may include the supervision of teaching assistant(s).
The successful candidate will be expected to follow an 70% teaching and 20% service and 10% other workload for the year.
The Faculty offers honours undergraduate degrees in Commerce (Co-Op) with specialisations in OBHR, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Accounting, Marketing and Technology Management. Additionally, we offer a Bachelor in Information Technology, with specializations in Networking and Security, Game Development and Interactive Media, and Technology Management. At the graduate level, we offer a Master of Business Analytics and AI, Master of Financial Data Analytics, Master of IT Security degree with an Artificial Intelligence focus. MSc and PhD programs in Computer Science are offered jointly by the Faculties of Business and IT, Engineering and Science. Information about

This position falls within the bargaining unit represented by the UOIT Faculty Association and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and the UOIT Faculty Association.
