The Office of the Dean in the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo invites applications for two definite-term Lecturer positions in the Digital Assets Group. These appointments will have an initial term of three years with the possibility of renewal. The appointed Lecturers may be considered for promotion to an on-going appointment thereafter as Continuing Lecturer if they demonstrate outstanding performance in teaching and service. The expected start date is July 1, 2020.
A PhD or a Masters degree and evidence of excellence in teaching are required. Applicants with a background in statistics, actuarial science, finance or the mathematics of business will be preferred. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate mathematics education and excellent organizational and communication skills. Duties will include teaching three to six courses per year and service/administrative work within the University. Service activities will focus on the development of interactive digital assets for textbook replacements, online courses, supplemental content for courses, and open courseware. Teaching will take place in both face-to-face and online classes.
The salary range for the position is $70,000 – $115,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
