The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada invites outstanding applicants for a full-time tenured or tenure-tracked position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Sustainable Structural Materials. The successful candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, and research excellence or potential in one of the following disciplines:

- Innovative structural products and systems made with sustainable materials
- Structural performance of structural/building systems constructed with sustainable materials

All candidates must be eligible for registration as a professional engineer in the Province of Alberta, and hold a PhD or are expected to graduate with a PhD by the time the appointment commences. Successful candidate with an exceptional track record may be considered for a Canada Research Chair Tier II appointment.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (including School of Mining and Petroleum Engineering) is committed to securing a position among the leading schools in North America. With a present complement of over 65 professors, research in the Department is vigorous and covers all major areas of Civil, Mining, and Petroleum Engineering. It currently has nine NSERC Industrial Research Chairs, three Canada Research Chairs and six endowed chairs. Our graduate program presently has an enrollment of over 470 students, including approximately 220 PhD students.
