Instructor - Privacy in IT

Dalhousie University

The Faculty of Computer Science and the Faculty of Management are seeking a candidate for a joint 1-year limited term instructor position to begin on September 1, 2021. This position will require the candidate to have a physical presence at Dalhousie University.

The position will primarily involve (i) teaching of CSCI 4101, CSCI 5001, and INFO 6090 with the remaining required teaching to be in other courses offered by the Faculty of Computer Science or the Faculty of Management; (ii) serving as the Academic Integrity Officer within the Faculty of Management; and (iii) participating in other Faculty administration. The listed courses are existing Dalhousie courses developed and delivered by specialist sessional instructor in the recent past.

The successful candidate for this position must meet the following requirements:
- At least a Master’s level degree in a field related to privacy or more than 10 years of industry experience in the development, interpretation and application of privacy policies and legislation;
- Experience in teaching courses at a university or enterprise in the area of privacy relating to IT
- Familiarity with Dalhousie’s policies on academic integrity
- Have a well defined area of interest in privacy in which they will remain current and be able to teach senior level and graduate courses.
