Position

The Faculty of Health Sciences has an opening for one full-time probationary (continuing) position as Instructor in the Addictions Counselling Program. The successful candidate will act as a faculty liaison for junior and senior internship experience, facilitate counselling skills training labs and teach in the undergraduate program. The position will commence July 1, 2018.

Qualifications

A Masters degree in Counselling, Social Work or related discipline is required as well as a professional practice background in Addictions Counselling and clinical supervision. Highly developed professional judgment and professional boundaries in working with students and agencies in practicum settings and experience in effectively managing complex issues across multiple contexts are necessary. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required. Teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset.

The Faculty of Health Sciences currently offers undergraduate and graduate education in Addictions Counselling, Nursing, Public Health, Therapeutic Recreation and Aboriginal Health.
