Limited Term Appointment, Modern Languages - Punjabi

University of the Fraser Valley

Job Summary
The Modern Languages department at the University of the Fraser Valley invites applicants for one (1) one-year Limited Term Faculty appointments in Punjabi. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of seven (7) sections of first and second year Punjabi language and culture courses.

Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components. The successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in departmental activities, service, events, and initiatives.

Qualifications
The successful applicant must have a native fluency in Punjabi, a PhD or solid indication of imminent completion in the area of Punjabi language and culture with a strong record of teaching excellence. A good knowledge of BlackBoard and Learning Branch are an asset.
We are seeking a collegial, energetic and innovative individual who has successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level and who communicates effectively with students both in and out of the classroom; and can develop new and innovative modes of delivery.
