Limited Term Appointment, Psychology

University of the Fraser Valley

Job Summary
The Psychology Department invites applicants for a Limited Term Appointment beginning August 2021 for the academic year.

The successful candidate would be expected to teach a total of seven courses over the fall and winter terms, including Introductory Psychology (101 and/or 102).The successful applicant would also be expected to contribute to the service needs of the department. This includes regular attendance at department meetings as well as contributions to specific department initiatives.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in psychology (or very near completion), relevant expertise, and demonstrated ability to teach at the senior undergraduate level in two or more of the following areas are required:  

PSYC 250: Introduction to Developmental Psychology
PSYC 356: Developmental Psychopathology
PSYC 302: Learning (Behaviourism, Classical and Modern Behavioural Theory)
PSYC 303: Perception
PSYC 370: Introduction to Personality Theory
PSYC 385: Evolutionary Psychology
491S: Basic Counselling and Interviewing Skills

Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.
