Math/Physics Instructor (Limited Term)
Applications are invited for a Limited Term (12 Month) position at the instructor level in the Department of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture. This 12-month term would begin Jan 2021. This is an academic position that encompasses teaching and administration. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture through the Chair, Department of Engineering.
This instructor must hold a Master’s degree in Physics, or Engineering (with graduate level course credits in mathematics, physics and/or engineering). A PhD or equivalent is an asset. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in teaching, tutoring, and/or academic student supervision of engineering students is required. It is preferred that the applicant have at least 3 years’ university teaching experience.
This assignment includes (but is not limited to) teaching assigned day and/or evening courses using lecture, lab, hands-on demonstration, cooperative learning and/or additional teaching methods including online/hybrid delivery at the discretion of the Department Chair or Dean. Courses are offered in accordance with established standards and course syllabi. This instructor may be required to teach undergraduate physics, mathematics, statistics or related engineering courses. In addition, this instructor will be called upon to provide individual and small group learning in the Math and Physics Help Centre and during office hours.
