Open Rank Tenure Track- Strategy

Simon Fraser University

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia invites outstanding candidates for one tenure-track position in Strategy, beginning July 1, 2023 (Rank: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor).

Applicants should have a PhD degree in Strategy and a Master’s in Economics, or a PhD in Economics. We are interested in all Strategy research areas but those consistent with Beedie’s Vision 2022 strategic priorities of innovation, social responsibility, and a global perspective will be prioritized. The successful candidate is expected to deliver high-quality, scholarly research, teach courses in both Strategy and Managerial Economics, and participate in our collaborative academic community through service.

Qualifications for Assistant Professor: strong academic record and completion or near-completion (ABD) of academic training. There should be clear indications that the individual has the aptitudes of a successful teacher, the potential to grow in stature as a scholar, as well as a willingness to play an active role in the University. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Strategy and Master’s Economics or or a PhD in Economics by the employment start date; however, PhD candidates with solid indication of imminent completion may be hired at the rank of Instructor and will be promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor upon completion of the PhD.

Qualifications for Associate Professor: a record of sustained successful teaching, scholarly achievement, and participation in service to their university and the community. An important criterion is the demonstration of continued professional growth of the individual in their field(s), including recognition as an established scholar.

Qualifications for Full Professor: evidence of national or international reputation in their area of expertise. The rank of Full Professor is for those who have excelled in research and teaching and have demonstrated commitment to service contributions.
