Instructor, Pharmacy Practice

Instructor (Pharmacy Practice) Position #28696

The College of Pharmacy, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, Canada invites applications for a full-time, term position of up to three years, with opportunity for review and renewal, at the rank of Instructor I/II /Senior Instructor, commencing April 15, 2021 or at a time to be negotiated. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Major responsibilities for the position will be to contribute to teaching and service in the College, and work with others on the development and implementation of the new PharmD curriculum. Activities will include teaching in the applied pharmacy skills and/or clinical courses with duties involving, but not limited to, course coordination, delivering lectures, developing cases and standardized patient scenarios, and teaching and evaluating students in performance-based and simulation lab environments. The successful applicant may also help to provide support for a PharmD bridging program and participate in continuing professional development. The position will also represent the College on relevant University and professional committees and associations.

The successful candidate will possess a PharmD degree or BSc(Pharm) with advanced practice experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, primary care or other innovative patient-focused practice. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills for productive teamwork are requirements for this position. In addition to in-person teaching responsibilities, ability to teach in a virtual on-line environment is an asset. The successful candidate must maintain an active pharmacy license, and be eligible to practice in Manitoba.

The College of Pharmacy is located in a state-of-the-art Apotex Centre on the Bannatyne Campus at the University of Manitoba. The College of Pharmacy has a long history of excellence in pharmacy education and research, and maintains strong associations with professional bodies and practicing pharmacists in hospital, community and primary care settings. It is part of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS) and situated on a dynamic campus that provides opportunities for interprofessional collaboration in health sciences education, research and practice. The campus has excellent library facilities, and is proximal to several tertiary teaching hospitals of the Winnipeg Region Health Authority (WRHA), one of the largest and most diverse health regions in Canada.
