Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Management Information Systems

Applications are invited for a full-time tenure-track or tenured position in Management Information Systems (MIS) in the Department of Accounting and Finance in the I. H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor depending on experience and qualifications. The appointment start date is July 1, 2022. Salary is competitive, and salary and rank will depend on qualifications, experience as well as research and teaching records.

Candidates applying must have completed or nearly completed a Ph.D. in MIS or Computer Science or Statistics or a related area. We are looking for candidates with research and teaching interests in Data Analytics. Strong preference is given to candidates with expertise in big data & machine learning. Duties include research, teaching, and professional service (for the School, the University, and the community). Teaching at both Master and undergraduate levels is expected. The normal teaching load at the Asper School is four courses per year (e.g., 2 + 2). At the Assistant Professor rank, candidates must display a promising research agenda and have demonstrated success in teaching. At the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have a strong research orientation, a demonstrated record of high-quality publications, and successful experience in academic teaching. At the Full Professor rank, candidates must demonstrate leadership in research, an excellent record of high-quality publications, and successful experience in academic teaching. Substantial start-up research funding is provided to new faculty members as is a fully paid six-month sabbatical after three years.

The I. H. Asper School of Business is the principal business school in the province of Manitoba and is accredited by AACSB. The School offers undergraduate, MBA, M.Sc. and PhD degrees. The Asper School is a research intensive institution comprised of approximately 56 full-time faculty members (representing over 13 countries) publishing in leading academic journals.
