Assistant, Associate/Full Professor, Accounting and Finance

Applications are invited for two full-time tenured or tenure-track positions in Finance in the Department of Accounting and Finance in the I. H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. The appointments will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor depending on experience and qualifications. The start dates for the appointments are July 1, 2022. Salary is competitive, and salary and rank will depend on qualifications, experience as well as research and teaching records.

Candidates applying must have completed or nearly completed a Ph.D. in Finance. We are open to a broad range of research interests. For position #27905, priority will be given to candidates who can teach International Finance and/or Fintech at Undergraduate and Graduate levels. For position #30633, priority will be given to candidates who have good research potential in Asset Pricing and the ability to teach derivatives and risk management at Undergraduate and Graduate levels. We are seeking outstanding candidates at either the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. At the Assistant Professor rank, candidates must display a promising research agenda and have demonstrated success in teaching. At the Associate Professor rank, candidates must have a strong research orientation, a demonstrated record of high-quality publications and successful experience in academic teaching. At the Full Professor rank, candidates must demonstrate leadership in research, an excellent record of high-quality publications and successful experience in academic teaching. Duties include research, teaching at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels, and professional service (for the School, the University, and the community). The normal teaching load at the Asper School is four courses per year (e.g., 2 + 2). Substantial start-up research funding is provided to new faculty members, as is a fully paid six-month sabbatical after three years (which extends the tenure clock by a full year).

The I. H. Asper School of Business is the principal business school in the Province of Manitoba and is accredited by AACSB. The School offers undergraduate, MFin, MBA, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. The Asper School is a research-intensive institution comprised of approximately 56 full-time faculty members (representing over 13 countries) publishing in leading academic journals.
