Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities/Department of Interdisciplinary Studies:

Lakehead University, Orillia Campus, invites applications for one tenure-track faculty appointment in Criminology at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to preferably commence August 1, 2021, at the Orillia Campus. The academic rank of the appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate.

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies is located on the Orillia campus. The Department offers three unique programs, including Criminology, and is composed of faculty members who are dedicated exclusively to Criminology as well as to other interdisciplinary degree programs. The Department is interested in well-rounded candidates who balance empirical research with a commitment to teaching and service. Applicants should have a completed PhD in Criminology or a Criminology-related field by the time of appointment. Candidates with any area of research specialization are welcome to apply. Candidates must provide evidence of a clearly defined research program and demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to assume an active service role and coordinate the Criminology Program within the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. Familiarity with and commitment to experiential learning as well as online or alternative modes of course delivery are also desirable candidate qualities.
