Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Community Child & Youth Practice, Department of Child and Youth Study

This candidate will have expertise in the principles, concepts, practices, and implications of community engagement in the delivery of education and care programs that enhance the lives and well-being of children and youth. The candidate will provide leadership in this area by contributing to current and new course content, including practica requirements; strengthening partnerships with local organizations, especially those representing African-Nova Scotian and Indigenous and/or 2SLGBTQIA+ communities (including through enhancing the program’s community-based practicum opportunities); and, engaging in research and community service endeavours for improving the well-being of children, youth and families.
Applicants should hold a PhD (or be near completion) with research expertise in Community Child & Youth Practice, in areas such as child & youth care, recreation, experiential programs, social justice, outreach, youth advocacy and/or youth civic engagement.
