Applicants should hold a doctorate or be close to the completion of this degree. The disciplinary background of the candidate may include cognitive science, education, psychology, curriculum and instruction, educational psychology, learning sciences, or a related field with a clear focus on learning and instruction. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research agenda has a focus on improving learning and teaching in schools, addressing learning and instruction in the classroom, and tiered interventions for students struggling to acquire academic skills.
The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in elementary language arts/literacy methods, language acquisitions and reading development. Experience teaching in elementary schools is preferred, and teaching in bachelor of education and graduate education programs would be an asset. Workload includes teaching, research, and collegial service. Candidates should demonstrate an outstanding potential for research, teaching, and graduate supervision.
