Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University (TRSM) is developing collaborative, creative leaders who will drive 21st century business forward while making a positive impact on society. The Opportunity
The School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) in the Ted Rogers School of Management at Ryerson University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Finance, at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2020, subject to final budgetary approval.

As the only undergraduate school of Accounting and Finance located on Bay Street, in the heart of Canada’s biggest financial district, SAF offers experiential learning through a rigorous and advanced curriculum. Being both CPA-accredited and CFA-recognized, SAF creates job-ready graduates to succeed in today’s ever-changing business world.

This position falls under the jurisdiction of the Ryerson Faculty Association (RFA) (www.rfanet.ca).

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage in a combination of teaching, research and service duties. As SAF continues to expand its research activities, the new faculty member will be expected to establish and maintain a strong independent research agenda and to collaborate with other university departments, partners and the community as well as teach a range of Finance courses and supervise at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will engage in maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across all activities.

Qualifications
Candidates must hold a PhD in Finance or are expected to complete a PhD in Finance prior to July 1, 2020. In addition, the successful candidate must present evidence of:

- strong emerging scholarly research or creative projects or works that are active, innovative and impactful resulting in achievements such as peer reviewed publications, working papers, book chapters, public policy contributions, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, strong endorsements/recommendations by referees of top international stature, studies, writings or creative productions disseminated by other suitable means and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline;
- excellence in teaching via a teaching dossier that outlines the teaching philosophy, teaching accomplishments, including experience with course/curriculum review/development, excellent pedagogical practice, sample syllabi and teaching evaluations;
- strong communication and expository skills and a demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate students;
- commitment to our values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion as it pertains to service, teaching, and scholarly research or creative activities, including a demonstrated ability to make learning accessible and inclusive for a diverse student population; and
- an ability to contribute to the life of the School and the University through collegial service.

While applicants in all areas of finance will be considered, candidates with a research interest in corporate finance,disruptive FinTech, asset pricing, or financial institutions are preferred. Experience in case teaching is an asset.
