The Department of Science at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus invites applications for a full-time term lecturer position in Computing Science. This is a non-tenure-track, two-year fixed-term position and involves responsibility for the teaching of a variety of computing science courses at all undergraduate levels. The successful candidate may also be a team member in the launching of the Mathematics and Computing Science Clinic, a new Augustana initiative that aims to offer core support to students in mathematics and computing science courses.
As part of Augustana’s new and innovative academic calendar, instruction will include both eleven-week courses and the teaching during three-week blocks in September and January when students enroll in only one course. The Department of Science at Augustana maintains close relationships with the Department of Computing Science at the University's North campus, providing opportunities for the successful candidate to network within a world-class research environment. Furthermore, there is ample support and opportunity to develop teaching and pedagogical skills at Augustana, a campus that is a leader in pedagogical innovation.

The successful candidate will be expected to hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in Computing Science, or a related field, and will preferably have recent experience in university teaching at the undergraduate level. A PhD degree is considered an asset.
This position is in accordance with the Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) Agreement of the University of Alberta. It has an appointment from July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2021, and is subject to budgetary approval. Salary is commensurate with experience in accordance with the ATS Agreement which also stipulates benefits.
