Two Tenure Track Assistant Professor Positions, Social Work

The Faculty of Social Work is inviting applications for two tenure track Assistant Professor positions. The Faculty’s Mission Statement reads:
The social work program of education, research and community service is designed to prepare students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples. Informed by the principles of indigenization, sustainability and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized and oppressed. It supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities, and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential.
Applications are invited from those with an interest and background in teaching and research in the following social work areas: direct social work practice with individuals, families, groups or communities; research and practice, from an anti-oppressive social work perspective, which includes: child welfare, human rights, population health, gender, disability, aging, Indigenous methodologies, decolonizing practices, multicultural and immigrant issues.
The successful candidate duties will include teaching at the BSW and MSW levels, conducting research, supervising graduate students, and contributing to the administrative structure of the Faculty of Social Work. The Faculty of Social Work has campuses in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
• One tenure-track position will be located at the Regina campus with opportunities to teach away from the Regina campus. The preferred candidate will be an Indigenous scholar with knowledge and expertise in quantitative methods in social work research.
• One tenure-track position will be located at the Prince Albert campus with opportunities to teach away from the Prince Albert campus.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Social Work or a related discipline (ABD may be considered) and a strong record of research and teaching in the areas of social work practice, education or policy. The candidate should be eligible for membership in their appropriate professional association. The salary will be commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
The appointments will begin July 1, 2019.
The Committee will begin reviewing applications on December 7, 2018, and will continue until suitable candidates are identified.
