Term Instructor, Department of Biology

The Department of Biology at The University of Winnipeg invites motivated and enthusiastic candidates to apply for a one-year term position at the rank of Instructor. This is a teaching position where the successful applicant will instruct laboratory sections of Cell Biology, Genetics, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and may be asked to teach other undergraduate level courses. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence August 1, 2025. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, and in accordance with the University of Winnipeg Faculty Association Collective Agreement.
The selected candidate will join the Department of Biology which has sixteen tenured or tenure-track faculty members and eight Instructors. The Department offers B.Sc. and B.Sc. Honours degrees in Biology, and graduate degrees (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) in Bioscience, Technology and Public Policy. Applicants must hold a minimum of a M.Sc. in Biology or closely related discipline at the time of appointment. Candidates should have broad training in Biology.

• a teaching dossier that demonstrates evidence of teaching effectiveness
• a statement that describes the applicant’s experience working with a diverse student body, as well as past, present, and/or future contributions to creating/advancing a culture of equity and inclusion on campus or within the applicant's discipline (one page maximum)
• the names and email/phone contact information of three references who can speak about the applicant’s teaching effectiveness (referees will be contacted soon after the closing date if the applicant is short-listed)
