The Department of Psychology and the Faculty of Health at York University invites highly qualified applicants for a Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream position in Statistical Methods. This is an open Contractually Limited Appointment (CLA) to the teaching stream for a three-year (3) term to commence July 1, 2027.

The successful candidate’s core responsibilities will be teaching introductory and intermediate undergraduate statistics and research methods.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Degree: PhD in Psychology by the appointment’s start date, is required.
- Teaching:
- A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching Statistical Methods and dedication to students (e.g. teaching statement; teaching accomplishments and pedagogical innovations including in high-priority areas such as experiential education and technology enhanced learning; teaching evaluations; and strong letters of reference).
- A record or evident promise of excellence in teaching university level courses in Statistical Methods for psychology;
- A record or evident promise of a strong commitment to pedagogy and student success, the capacity to bring a theoretical and practical orientation to Statistical Methods teaching and learning and demonstrate good judgment and a reflective approach to innovation in teaching.
Hiring Policies:
- The anticipated starting salary for this position at the rank of Sessional Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream is in the range of $132,000 to $162,000 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. York University offers generous benefits and salary provisions.
