The Centre for Discovery and Cancer Research (CDCR) brings together world-renowned researchers to develop new and improved ways to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with cancer.

Position Description:

The Department of Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate level with research specialization in the area of proteomics/metabolomics. We welcome candidates with expertise involving treatment-resistant cancers of high unmet need (such as glioblastoma, pancreatic cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, treatment-refractory lung cancer, brain metastases, advanced ovarian cancer, etc.). The successful candidate will build a research program around methods and analysis of cancer patient and experimental data to undertake comprehensive translational and reverse-translational studies that can inform the development of new therapeutic and diagnostic approaches for cancers. Expertise in the development of proteomics and/or metabolomics methods and their application to human cancers will be prioritized.

The successful candidate will have evidence of leadership skills, excellence in service, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. The successful applicant must demonstrate a compelling vision for both continuing and further developing strengths in the Faculty of Health Sciences in cancer research, as well as enhancing McMaster University’s Strategic Research Plan. The candidate must have completed a Ph.D. in a related discipline and have substantial postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an outstanding program of research, secure extramural funding, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise and cultivate an intellectual community of graduate students, and help realize the Faculty’s and University’s commitment to the goals of equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
