Assistant Professor Without Review (Term) in Operations Management at the University of British Columbia

The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) invites applications for one full-time one-year term position at the rank of Assistant Professor Without Review with a teaching focus on operations management and business analytics and data visualization. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025. This term appointment is for one year (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026).We are inviting applications from researchers in operations management.

Applicants must have a record of research commensurate with the rank and a demonstrated successful experience in teaching. We prioritize candidates with experience and with peer-reviewed top-quality publications.

Applicant Qualifications

The successful candidate will:
• Hold a Ph.D. degree in Operations Management, operations research, or closely-related field
• Must show potential for exceptional communication and teaching skills; a demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and supervision of undergraduate students; and, a proven record of excellence in teaching.
• Have evidence of high-quality undergraduate, and/or graduate teaching, in the following areas:
o Introductory Business Courses
o Operations Management
o Business Analytics and Data Visualization
o Supply Chain Management
• Have demonstrated commitment to provide service to the academic and broader community

Duties include: developing and maintaining an active research program aimed at making a significant contribution to the profession, teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as contributing to other teaching and administrative initiatives of the Faculty of Management. Teaching and service requirements are similar to other research-intensive and teaching-excellence fescues (balanced) universities. Candidates will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
