The Department of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John campus, invites applications for an 8-month term position, with potential for renewal, in Environmental Engineering at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, starting August 25, 2025. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
The department offers a 2-year diploma program in Engineering Foundations with specializations in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, and software engineering. Additionally, the department offers a 4-year degree program in environmental engineering which started in Fall 2023 and plans to offer a bachelor’s program in industrial engineering in the near future. The department is also looking at expanding its offerings through teaching graduate courses toward the Master of Engineering in systems engineering.
Candidates for the position must have MSc or BSc in Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline. UNB Saint John has a strong commitment to teaching so demonstrated excellence in teaching will be an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained a P. Eng. or who are eligible to do so.
Responsibilities include the preparation, supervision, and delivery, fully or partially, either in classrooms or any alternate delivery method of the laboratories for Environmental Engineering and general Engineering courses, as well as assisting in university academic service.
The salary range and fringe benefits for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 - 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B.
