Located in the beautiful southern interior of British Columbia, Okanagan College provides post-secondary education and training to approximately 16,000 domestic and international students in programs spanning Arts, Science, Business Administration, Health and Social Development, Trades and Apprenticeship, Adult Upgrading and in niche areas such as Viticulture, Animation and Sustainable Building Technology. Okanagan College is also the second largest trades training institution in B.C.

The Health and Social Development Portfolio (HSD) offers programming (certificate and diplomas) in Early Childhood Education, Human Services Work, Pharmacy Technician, Dental Assistant, Therapist Assistant, Health Care Assistant, and practical Nursing. With over 600 FTE students across 4 campuses, HSD helps ensure the region can continue to deliver high-quality, accessible healthcare for its residents.

Reporting to the Vice-President Academic, the Dean, HSD provides strategic and innovative leadership to the portfolio. As a member of the Leadership Team, the Dean contributes to the development of institution-wide policies, short- and long-term planning, operating and capital budgets, and policies and procedures for HSD in keeping with the College’s mission, vision, values and key directions.

As the ideal candidate, you are a strategic visionary with strong academic leadership and management competencies with the capability and capacity to deliver on strategic objectives. You bring ten years of experience in post-secondary education, with significant experience in both administration and teaching. A master’s degree related to the disciplines found in the Portfolio is required. A doctorate is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $130,738 to $200,465 per annum. The expected hiring range is $156,886 to $174,317 per annum, dependent on relevant education and experience.
