Lakehead University, Barrie Campus, invites applications for a one-year limited term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The academic rank of the appointment will be commensurate with the qualifications of the successful candidate. The position will commence on August 1st, 2024.

The Department encourages all eligible applicants with an earned PhD or close to completion by August 1, 2024 in Electrical and Computer Engineering to apply for this position. The successful candidate will teach six half-course equivalents per year at the undergraduate level, plus supervision of capstone projects. Flexibility in undergraduate teaching of a diversity of courses is expected in the accredited BEng Program in Electrical Engineering at Barrie, in partnership with Georgian College. In addition to this program, the Department offers Masters and Ph.D programs, as well as another accredited BEng program at its Thunder Bay campus. Possible assigned courses for this position include the following:

• EELE 1637 Computer Logic Circuits
• EELE 3310 Circuit analysis and design I
• EELE 4053 Communications Systems
• ESOF 3358 Numerical Methods & Modelling
• EELE 2137 Engineering Probability and Statistics
• Senior undergraduate elective course

Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired.

Besides teaching, the candidate is expected to participate in the administrative work of the Department and University, in activities such as outreach and recruitment, serving on administrative and student committees, and curriculum development.

Eligibility for Professional Engineering registration in a province of Canada is a mandatory condition for employment in this position.
