The College of Nursing invites applications to fill a full-time, three-year term Midwifery Instructor I/ Instructor II/ Senior Instructor position, commencing Aug 1, 2025, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Qualified candidates will possess substantive knowledge and experience in Canadian model of midwifery. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with Indigenous (First Nation, Metis, and Inuit) ancestry and expertise in Indigenous maternal and child health and Indigenous pedagogy.

Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The responsibilities of this position include teaching and service. The successful candidate will provide leadership in service to the College, University, and professional /academic communities, committees and activities.

The College of Nursing seeks an emerging or established scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. Exceptional candidates will be considered with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below:

POSITION:
The successful candidate will contribute to the academic development, delivery and evaluation of theory and clinical practice courses in the Bachelor of Midwifery program. The incumbent will integrate scholarship into clinical and classroom teaching; provide leadership on the integration of relevant concepts related to the undergraduate program; and, participate in professional and community organizations. The successful candidate will be required to offer courses on-site or through delivery by various distance education modalities.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Registration with the College of Midwives of Manitoba (CMM) required.
• A Master’s degree is required or demonstration in-progress, preferably in a health-related discipline, with preference for Doctoral level preparation in a relevant field.
• At least 2 years of clinical practice experience in the Canadian model of midwifery.
• Demonstrated excellence in didactic teaching, delivering and evaluating flipped classes, blended learning, flexible delivery, online delivery and other innovative modalities.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and assessment of students in various clinical settings using best practice principles and evidence-based knowledge.
• Ability to provide leadership in the continuous evaluation and improvement of the curriculum, innovation in teaching, and enhancement of student experience.
• Ability to undertake appropriate administrative tasks.
• Excellent communication and interaction skills (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
• Ability to foster collegial relationships.
• Scholarly capabilities.
