University of Lethbridge

THE UNIVERSITY OF LETHBRIDGE is seeking applications for one continuing position at the Instructor III rank in Operations and Supply Chain Management on our Lethbridge Campus.

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related area; a graduate degree in one or more of these areas is required. A commitment to teaching excellence is required. Online and hyflex teaching may be required, and courses may also be taught during the evenings or Saturdays, in addition to face-to-face daytime offerings. This position is part of the Global Business Area.

Candidates who have teaching interests in Sustainable Supply Chain Management and Logistics, with a focus on links to data analytics, are particularly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in one or more of the following related areas: International Management/ Global Business, Global Supply Chain/Operations Analytics, Agricultural Supply Chain, and/or Sustainable Supply Chain Management. Candidates with interests in working directly with organizations to support experiential learning, and particularly work integrated learning, are also encouraged. Preference will be given to individuals with evidence of effective teaching at a university level in the above areas. The applicant should have some industry experience, and be willing and able to continue with limited ongoing practice involvement or similar activities to maintain their professional competence.

Instructor responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: instruction and assessment; course content updating; pedagogical and assessment improvements; course and curriculum development; active involvement in School and Area governance; and other service activities such as committee service, participation in student related activities, and participation in industry events.

The successful candidate’s teaching assignments will include courses such as Supply Chain Management and Sustainability, Operations Modelling with Spreadsheets, Quality Management, Supply Chain Technology and Blockchain, International Management/Business, and Operations and Quantitative Management at the undergraduate level and possibly Business Analytics at the graduate level.
The preferred start date for the position is July 1, 2024; a later start date in 2024 may be possible.
