Instructor, School of Business, Financial Accounting

University of the Fraser Valley

Job Summary:

Located within the Faculty of Business and Computing, the School of Business has approximately fifteen hundred students enrolled in certificate, diploma, and degree programs. The successful candidate will actively participate in the development and delivery of those programs and engage in academic service activities.

The School of Business invites applicants for a one-year Limited Term faculty appointment in financial accounting. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a total of seven (7) sections, including a variety of lower- and/ or upper-level courses in financial accounting, as well as lower-level management courses such as: Introductory Financial Account (BUS 145), Income Tax I (BUS 345), Auditing Principles (BUS 347), and Introduction to Business (BUS 100).

There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will engage in university and community service, and the promotion of programs offered by the School.
Duties of Limited Term faculty fall within Article 18.2 (Teaching Faculty Duties) of the Collective Agreement, specifically the Teaching and Service components.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have demonstrated proficiency as an instructor and must have a PhD or DBA in accounting or a related discipline, or must be near completion (ABD). Applicants with a relevant Master’s degree might be considered if they possess a minimum of five years relevant and recent industry experience, and a Canadian CPA designation.
