Position Profile:
The successful applicant will be expected to establish and maintain a strong, independent, research program, and to engage and collaborate with other Entrepreneurship Group members. The successful applicant will contribute to one or more of the world-class research clusters at Ivey Business School (https://www.ivey.uwo.ca/faculty_research/faculty/area-groups/entrepreneurship/). The applicant will be expected to teach using the case method in entrepreneurship or an adjacent area. In addition to research and case teaching, case writing, supervising student research (undergraduate, graduate, and PhD), and obtaining external funding are core functions for Ivey faculty.
Academic Expectations:
The successful applicant will conduct world-class research in entrepreneurship, and publish that research in top outlets, specifically FT50 and ABS 4(+) journals. We are open to a wide range of research interests, but scholars with interests that overlap or offer collaboration potential with existing Ivey entrepreneurship faculty will be preferred.
Qualifications or Experience Required:
Research
Applicants must possess a PhD in Entrepreneurship/Management or a closely related discipline. The successful applicant will have a high potential record of research in the form of publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals, conferences, awards, invited talks, and other scholarly achievements, as appropriate for their career path and stage. The candidate shall demonstrate promise of research impact and a reputation as an emerging international researcher. The ability to attract external research funding will be considered.
Teaching
Ivey Business School is a demanding teaching environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate experience or aptitude to lead a case-driven curriculum in entrepreneurship and related areas, at both an undergraduate and graduate level. They should also have pedagogical interest or experience in creating new teaching materials, primarily case development and writing.
Service
Service expectations will be commensurate with rank, but will include service to the research field, the entrepreneurship group, Ivey Business School, and Western University. Service experience in both internal and external capacities will be considered.
Interpersonal/Communication
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and administrative staff within the Ivey Business School and the broader university community. Consideration of applicants will focus on qualifications, professional experience, interpersonal skills, and the ability to contribute to teaching and leadership. The successful candidate will exhibit strong communication abilities, cultural competence, and the capacity to foster positive relationships across diverse groups.

Disciplinary Group Profile: The Entrepreneurship Group at Ivey comprises Simon Parker, Eric Morse, Dominic Lim, Janice Byrne, Daniel Clark, and Laurel Steinfield. It is a research-active group, which studies entrepreneurship broadly as the creation of opportunities, technologies, firms, products, markets, business models, and key resources that generate economic and social value. Its research spans multiple levels of analysis, from individuals to global environments, with core focus areas including entrepreneurial cognition and decision-making, firm growth and performance, innovation, technology and AI, the economics of entrepreneurship, gender and culture, social innovation and social justice, international entrepreneurship, public policy, entrepreneurial support organizations, and gender and investing. Activities of the group are supported by the Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship, Canada's most successful academic entrepreneurship centre.
