Tenure-track Assistant Professor Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business.

The Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business (Conrad) at the University of Waterloo invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Entrepreneurship or any field of business with evidence of interest in entrepreneurship. The anticipated start date 1st July 2027.

About the Role

The Conrad School of Entrepreneurship and Business seeks an outstanding scholar for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We welcome applications from candidates across a broad range of academic disciplines. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation and a commitment to contributing to entrepreneurship education, research, and impact. Work with or in the area of emerging technologies (for example AI) and new methods are of particular interest.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain an active research program, contribute to graduate student supervision, teach and develop courses that fit to our portfolio at undergraduate and graduate levels, and participate in service activities within the School, Faculty, University, and broader academic community.

Eligible candidates should have:

  • A doctoral degree (or be near completion of a doctoral degree) in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business, Management, or a related discipline. 
  • Demonstrated potential to develop and sustain an active program of high-quality scholarly research. 
  • Evidence of research productivity commensurate with career stage, including publications, working papers, conference presentations, or other scholarly contributions. 
  • A commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. 
  • An interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, and entrepreneurial activity, broadly defined. 
  • The ability to contribute to an interdisciplinary academic environment and engage effectively with students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, including Engineering, Science, and related fields. 
  • The potential to supervise graduate students and contribute to the development of future scholars. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and collegiality skills, and a commitment to contributing positively to the Conrad School community. 

Salary Range

The salary range for this position at the Assistant Professor rank is $120,000 to $170,000. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates. 

About the Conrad School

Located at the heart of one of the world’s leading innovation ecosystems, the Conrad School plays a central role in entrepreneurship education at the University of Waterloo. Conrad offers a range of opportunities to engage with entrepreneurship including a Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET), Diplomas in Business and Entrepreneurship, E-Coop and BETS programs, and multiple undergraduate entrepreneurship courses available across all six faculties. Conrad supports student founders from idea to launch through a combination of venture-building coursework, experiential opportunities, and close collaboration with campus and regional partners. It also offers next-generation programming for graduates and managers.
