TERM ASSISTANT TEACHING PROFESSOR IN TEACHER EDUCATION



The Faculty of Education at the University of New Brunswick invites applications for a one-year term teaching position (with the possibility of renewal) at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor in Teacher Education. The start date for this position is July 1, 2026, and is subject to final budgetary approval.



The salary range and fringe benefits for this position is defined in the Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers (AUNBT) 2022 - 2025 Collective Agreement sections 35 and 36B. 



Responsibilities will include teaching in the 10-month Bachelor of Education program, developing and updating courses, and engaging in practicum supervision.



The successful candidate will have:

At least a Bachelor of Education degree plus a Master’s degree in Education or a related field;

Evidence of or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching;

Demonstrated knowledge of teacher education curriculum and pedagogical practices;

A minimum of five (5) years of recent teaching experience.



The ideal candidate should also have:

A strong passion for and a strong record of teaching at the undergraduate level, preferably in a Bachelor of Education degree program;

A strong passion for and a strong record of teacher candidate supervisory work and practicum mentorship;

Knowledge of UNB’s 10-month BEd program and of New Brunswick Teacher Certification;

Teaching experience in New Brunswick public schools.

Knowledge of New Brunswick school governance structures;

Experience working with diverse cultural and linguistic contexts (e.g., Black, 2SLGBTQIA++, Wabanaki).
