Deadline to Apply: Sunday, May 17, 2026
Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee, Mississaugas of the Credit and the Wendat Peoples, Toronto Metropolitan University Libraries invites applications for two full-time career stream positions of Medical Librarian at the rank of Librarian I or II, effective as soon as possible, subject to final budgetary approval.
TMU’s unique new School of Medicine (SoM), is now operational at its Brampton campus, having welcomed its first cohort of students in the Fall of 2025. The School of Medicine is being designed from the ground up to shift the paradigm of healthcare delivery and improve the well-being of individuals, families and communities. With a community-driven, intentionally inclusive approach, the new School trains doctors whose cultural awareness and humility are as crucial as their medical skills. TMU’s School of Medicine draws on the university’s commitment to community, equity, and innovation to address rapidly changing healthcare needs. The School trains a new generation of physicians who are ready to learn, to adapt, and ultimately to be agents of change.
Brampton/Peel and its surrounding communities are part of the Treaty Lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit. We acknowledge that these lands are also shared by the Anishinabeg, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, Ojibway/Chippewa and Métis peoples. In recognition of the under-representation of racialized and Indigenous persons in academic librarian roles, the University Libraries especially welcome applications from racialized and Indigenous persons and such candidates are encouraged to self identify through our Applicant Diversity Self-ID questionnaire, accessible through our Faculty Recruitment Portal.
