The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia invites outstanding candidates for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Strategy, beginning July 1, 2024.
Qualifications
Strong academic record and completion or near-completion (ABD) of academic training. There should be clear indications that the individual has the aptitudes of a successful teacher, the potential to grow in stature as a scholar, as well as a willingness to play an active role in the University. We are interested in all Strategy research areas but those consistent with Beedie’s Vision 2022 strategic priorities of innovation, social responsibility, and a global perspective will be prioritized. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Strategy or related field by the employment start date; however, PhD candidates with solid indication of imminent completion may be hired at the rank of Instructor and will be promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor upon completion of the PhD.
Duties
As SFU is a leading research university, successful candidates will be expected to contribute with high quality, scholarly research. The candidate will teach courses in Strategy-related subjects at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. In addition, the successful candidate will actively participate in Beedie’s collegial self-governance structure and the academic community through committee work.

• a cover letter,
• an up-to-date curriculum vitae including details of research and teaching, scholarly record, funding and list of collaborations/partnerships,
• a research statement including a proposed program of research and two examples of scholarly work,
• a statement outlining the alignment of your research and teaching to the position’s qualifications and to Beedie’s strategic priorities and vision,
• a teaching statement including evidence of teaching experience in Strategy or a description of potential to teach the subject, prior syllabi and teaching evaluations (if experienced), and evidence of your commitment to improving your teaching practice,
• names and email addresses of 3 referees. SFU will contact referees directly.
