Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track), Economics
The Department of Economics at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (or Associate Professor in the case of an exceptional candidate) commencing July 1, 2020. The Department has particular interest in hiring in health economics but will also consider exceptional applied micro candidates with a strong interest in empirical research. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their PhD or who expect to complete their PhD requirements prior to July 1, 2020.
The Department of Economics at McMaster is a research-intensive academic unit. The appointee will be expected to conduct an independent research program yielding significant peer-reviewed publications, to attract external peer-reviewed research funding, to teach undergraduate and graduate students, and to supervise doctoral students.

The Department will begin reviewing applications November 1, 2019 and the position will remain open until it is filled. The Department expects to be interviewing at the Canadian Economics Employment Exchange in Toronto in December 2019 and at the ASSA meetings in San Diego in January 2020.
