Since attaining degree-granting status in 2003, Sheridan has grown its portfolio of degree programs to 25 currently, with plans to further develop in this area. Sheridan serves approximately 23,000 full-time and 18,500 continuing and part-time studies students every year on its campuses in Oakville, Brampton and Mississauga.
Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic, the Director, Continuing and Professional Studies (CAPS) is responsible for the provision of innovative continuing and professional studies programs and initiatives, and special funded programs at Sheridan. Through community-engaged leadership at both operational and strategic levels, the Director works in partnership with the Deans of the academic Faculties and key stakeholders from the community and government to develop new programs, increase student enrolment, promote brand awareness, and pursue revenue generation opportunities to support the interests of Sheridan. Through research and identification of market opportunities, program feasibility assessments, business development, marketing, fiscal accountability, and regular evaluation, the Director ensures the successful operation of CAPS as a revenue generating enterprise supporting Sheridan’s vision and strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned and strategic entrepreneurial leader with a Masters degree in Business or a related discipline, as well as demonstrated experience in business development and continuing education. The successful candidate has significant experience managing and developing business in a post-secondary environment coupled with experience in resource stewardship including fiscal, physical and human resources. The Director will bring outstanding communication skills and a track record of building partnerships, managing projects and generating revenue. The successful candidate will bring a sound understanding of emerging industry trends and issues as they relate to continuing and professional studies, along with demonstrated success managing in a large, complex organization and the ability to work effectively in a highly collegial environment.
