Assistant Professor, Human Resources and Management
The DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Human Resources and Management Area, beginning July 1, 2019.
We are seeking an individual who will expand the breadth of scholarship in our department. Applicants should have strong training in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Organizational Theory, or Management, and possess a PhD in a relevant discipline. We also invite individuals engaged in innovative scholarship related to organizational studies or the management of organizations that bridges or transcends conventional disciplinary categories.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain a grants-supported program of research leading to publications in high quality journals. Support includes funding research and conference travel as well as a reduced teaching load during the first years of the appointment. The appointee will be called upon to supervise PhD students, lead PhD seminars, and/or teach in our undergraduate and MBA programs.
The Department’s current faculty members—Vishwanath Baba, Catherine Connelly, Rick Hackett, Benson Honig, Teal McAteer, John Medcof, Erin Reid, Joe Rose, Aaron Schat and Willi Wiesner—are engaged in research in organizational behaviour, industrial relations, human resources management, organizational theory, technology management, and/or entrepreneurship. They have published in the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Management Journal, Organizational Studies, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and the Harvard Business Review.

The DeGroote School of Business operates at two campuses, the University main campus in Hamilton, Ontario and a new state-of-the-art facility in nearby Burlington, Ontario, housing the MBA and executive programs.
