Global College values interdisciplinary experience and perspectives, along with innovative, participatory and engaged teaching in human rights. As this is a teaching intensive position, we are seeking applicants with a minimum of one-year experience teaching human rights at the university (or equivalent) level. Experience teaching courses similar to those listed, and, in particular, experience teaching human rights in the Canadian context is highly desirable.
Experience beyond the classroom that enriches teaching including applied experience in human rights law, with inter-governmental organisations and with non-governmental organizations within Canada and internationally is also highly valued.
Applicants should submit a covering letter (indicating their status with respect to Canadian citizenship/Permanent Residency), curriculum vitae (including names and contact information of three referees), and a teaching portfolio consisting of a sample syllabus of at least one of the above courses, a sample syllabus of a course based on the applicant’s research specialization, course evaluations (if available) and a one-page statement of teaching philosophy and experience.
